Hello podcast world and welcome to The Cubicle Escape Pod -- a resource for bootstrapping entrepreneurs.

 

This show is all about small business.  When we started the show back in April 2005, the concept was fairly simple.  We were starting a business and we thought it would be a good idea to explore the processes and share them with an audience.  It was essentially a how-to guide for those looking to escape the cubicle by starting their own business.

 

As the show progressed, so did our business.  After going through the start-up process (incorporating, setting up books, etc.), we found ourselves up to our eyebrows in the product development cycle.  We became so busy (and still are) with our own business that the podcast content was suffering.

 

So in November 2005, we decided to take a step back and revisit the Cubicle Escape Pod format.  After some discussion amongst ourselves and with friends and business confidants, we decided to revamp the show and turn it into a business variety show.  We asked a few people we respected to join the show as contributors.  Luckily for you (and us), they accepted the invite.

 

On the show we talk mostly about issues that bootstrappers, small business owners or those just pondering starting a new business will face on a daily basis.  The topics range from idea creation, marketing, branding, public relations, accounting and legal issues.  We like to have fun with the show, so we'll talk about some current events in the business world, make fun of ourselves and "fart around" (as one listener so elegantly put it).
